Hi Gabe,
I thought your speech at MS.51(Brooklyn)was really amazing. I once had a friend who bullied me but then I made other friends... I think your new dog is adorable. I hope people at my school really understand how bad bullying is. Write me back if you can. Otherwise, maybe we'll meet again.
Very sincerely,

Thank you for sharing with us today (10/22/10).
We all wish you well! (Mr. Cadeau)

You inspired me very much to stop bullying. I never really did bully much, but I saw people who do it and it makes me angry. (wrote by Brian Fedie) Thank you for coming to our school and sharing your story with us. I'm going to do ever thing I can to stop bullying(Zachary G. Karnes) I really learned to stop bulling and I will not forget to stop bulling thank you very much, and thank you for coming and I won't forget you and im hoping to see you some time again)(Bailey A. Denomie). Yey I'm Alexis Francois, I was really inspired with the speach you gave our school today, and I usta call people names but after that i stopped. i might say a few mean things as im getting attached to not bullying, but i dont try to and i hope u will come back to our school.(alexis p francois) I am really mean to people because they are mean to me. i just call them names back and sometimes a teacher will hear it and not even say anything about it at all(Samantha Johnson). Hi some times i am mean to this one girl she thinks that i am her friend but i am not. What should I do?[victoria]
Thanks for coming to our school. It was very emotional. My teacher cried. Thanks again, Sabrina Laux. Hi, u inspired me... n u almost made me cry!!! i didnt bully... I've been bullied.. and now i think im better cause no 1 hurts me any more! Thanks again (kelsi kathryn nankervis). Hey! Its Dana Hiltunen, I love your dogs, both of them are really cute! If you have a facebook you can find me on there, its just my regular name. I love animals & I'v been bullied before, so i know how you feel. Good luck! bye! Hi!I like the presentation that you made. I really learned a lot! I love the choice of the Black and Tan Coondog. Now I want to buy one when I am older! BYE!{Dylan A. Grentz} Hi. Thanks for coming to our school to talk to us about bullying. I was bullied before; people used to call me short all the time, but i got used to it, and made being short fun when the teacher asked us wat your nicknames are. If we didnt have one then we could make one up and I made up "shorty". Now, when people call me shorty I know its just because its my nickname. Thanks again for coming to our school, and have fun with Dana.(Mike Lytikainen) Hello, Thank you for coming to our school today, It made me think of when people bully me about how small I am, People don't realize how hard it is to be teased, but now I think they do because of your speech
Thank you, (foster miller) Hello I didnt really realize what bullying was until I heard your speech so THANK YOU. SINCERLY JEFFREY BARRETTE

I hope that this gives you some feedback from the kids at L'Anse, Mi. You can see the impression that you made on us. May God Bless you in your life, your family, your friendships, and your work in spreading this message.

I am a member of the Baraga County Community Foundation and I wanted to say "Thank you" for taking time out of your busy schedule to come and talk to the L'Anse and Baraga students about bullying. I felt bad that everybody treated you like that. I know how you feel. I was a pretty shy kid in school. The one thing I remember about your talk was not to bully back. I wish I would've had this advice when I was still in school. I had a boy that bullied me everyday for about 3 months, not nearly as long as you were bullied, but he would do the same thing that was done to you. He threw my books, tripped me, pushed me, he even managed to get me into a locker but I was too big for him to close it. Well, he kept on and on for a long time. I went to school one day and I was not in a good mood. He started right away in the morning and by the afternoon, I cracked. He saw me in the hallway again and went to push me and I cocked back and punched him square in the nose. He ran away crying and I thought, "now things will get better, now that I stood up to him, it would stop". Wow, was I wrong. First of all, I got suspended from school for 3 days and when I finally got back to school, it tripled. I didn't stop anything at all. The bully only recruited 2 more of his friends to join him in bullying me. That continued for about another month until I finally had enough and told the principal. The boys were taken to the office and talked to. They were made to apologize to me and were told never to do it again. Granted they finally stopped but I could tell they still wanted to bully me when I walked past them in the hallway. Again, I want to say "thank you" for your inspirational speech.
Thank you and good luck.

I know what you have put up with, and if someone bullies me, I will tell an important pesron like a teacher/parent to help me. I know not to bully and and I hope other peolpe learn that it is not right.

Thank you so much, I finally actually understand, and have been touched by your presentation. :)

first i would like to say thank you so much for comming to my school.(pal-mac middle school) I think that when you came you really made a diffrence. when i was getting bullied i thought that i had to be tougher and bully them back but you tought me that that isnt the right answer. You tought me that standing up for myself doesnt mean bullying back, it means to be brave. You were verry brave to go to your class reunion even though the people there were the same people that bullied you before. I am so glad that you get to talk to schools like mine and share your experience.

thanks again, Molly

And i feel if you put yor mind to dancing again you could do it, even if your just an intructer. Just know that whatever you do Izzy will be looking down on you and Diana and your family will be there to support you, im sure. Your expieriance brought me to tears this afternoon at school. Dear Gabe and Izzy,
I am not sure if you remember me, but you came to a parent expo in Grand Blanc and I met you there (I was wearing the Kevin Rush shirt) with my cousin Brittan. My mom saw you there and showed me to you. In truth, I was only interested in Izzy, the only reason I came over. My mom bought the book that you signed for me, but I just wanted to pet Izzy.
I thought of you at first of just one of those people to tell kids to do the right thing, don't do drugs and don't bully. I read your book months later, and I saw the the of the things you went through. All the sad times, all the happy times. I was amaze at your accomplishment you took. I am done with reading your book, and my favorite part about it was that all the things you have done in the beginning, and now, they were done for Izzy. You did all of those things for your little girl. I would have done the same things if my cats were sick.
Looking back at the day I got your book, I regret that I didn't know you, and that I hardly talked to you. If we ever met again, I would like you to know how you inspired me. (And if you ever want to come over at my school, it is Grand Blanc High School in Grand Blanc)

Hey there Gabe..I just want you to know you are a beautiful person inside and out! YouR story has truly touched my heart. I took care of a girl for 13 years who took on daily challenges of Cerebral Palsy and watched people stare, point, and laugh. It broke my heart. I now watch a little 2 year old girl who also has Cerebral palsy and goes thru the same things. What you are doing to stop bullying in schools is talking for those two girls to and I want to personally thank you for that! I had the opportunity to talk with you and your Mom at the parenting expo at Courtland center yesterday (April 24). I purchased your book and have read it already. Your story has truly touched my heart!!!!!

Dear Gabe and family,
Just an update to let you know what an amazing difference meeting you made in our lives. After our dinner, discussion and your presentation in Emporia in February Loran became even more determined to increase her independence. Loran searched for and found a small home that is all on one level and she moved in a month after you inspired her when you told her you live alone. Loran recently suffered an injury that required confinement to a wheelchair. Instead of being bummed out she called to report she had figured out how to get into any room in her home! We know Gabe that your courage to accomplish personal goals and sense of humor about people who do not understand FA or other disabilities really inspired Loran and now she too is reaching goals she set for herself. Her next one is to buy a recumbent bike and use it for travel and exercise! Thank you for everything and tell your Mom and Rick hello for us!

Keep fighting against bullying. The recent suicide of that young lady from Ireland has made these memories surface. What you are doing is so important. I'm praying for you two.

I agree with you, children learn how to behave towards others by what they are taught from their parents. We call them hurting words and always reinforce that God does not want us to use hurting words. I wish you the best of luck and I know you will inspire many. God Bless You, Teresa Reed

I also understand what great companions dogs make. My 4 year old Keeshond, Kacy helped me and I think to some degree with coping with my wife's uterian cancer treatments in 2008-09. Animals are much more perceptive than we give them credit for. Keep on.. keep on.
