Hi Everyone~
On 08-08-2008 at 8:08 the XXIX Olympics began in Beijing, China. I'm not much of a sports watcher or fan but when the Olympics roll around I watch them regularly. The events I like are swimming, track & field and gymnastics. My favorite is the swimming and I didn't miss one final with Micheal Phelps in it, I think I saw all those semis as well. I was all for him to achieve his goal of 8 gold medals surpassing Mark Spitz 7 golds in a single Olympics. Last night I went to the mall with my sister and mom., I momentarily forgot about his race. I asked a few store cashiers if they knew what time it was on, I also called home to ask Rick a few times. I finally got a hold of him and he told me 10:58. We had plenty of time to shop a little get home and eat dinner. The Men's 400M Medley Relay finally came on and I was anxious the whole time. Micheal had to rely on his 3 other teammates this time...but they all pulled through. I was happy for Michael achieved his goal. Learning that 8 is a lucky number in China and knowing the Olympics began on 08-08-2008 at 8:08 and also that Micheal won an amazing 8 golds, I thought it was cute that the number 8 has played a part in Izzy's and my life lately as well.
